Keeping up with the advances in technology, new scientific information and evolving Best Practices is one of the most significant challenges facing auditors today. Add the massive regulatory changes from FSMA, and auditors are facing a tremendous information gap. In many cases, auditors are required to participate in a minimum number of hours to ensure auditors maintain a current knowledge base. Sadly, the general information available in the market is geared to industry and rarely addresses an auditing approach. Most are typically provided in venues and timeframes that may be unavailable to auditors.
The Auditor Academy is the training platform created by AFSAP to address these challenges and improve auditor knowledge acquisition. It provides AFSAP member auditors access to verified content they need to improve their knowledge base and advance their careers.
AFSAP ACADEMY’S technical training materials are reviewed by TAB members for accuracy and to ensure the content is up to date. All major courses are available to members in a variety of formats including Virtual and onsite Instructor led courses, and many are available to the public on request. Vendor technical webinars and self-paced online learning is included that is convenient and available when needed to accommodate an auditors schedule. New content is frequently added based on member requests or emerging science. Moving forward, as new issues emerge the major topics will be developed and made available.
The Academy’s portfolio of courses includes comprehensive regulatory reviews for many of the FSMA rules that are available for live viewing or on demand virtual review as your schedule allows. Check the Training Calendar often as the program launches, expands and grows.
Working with service industry providers, the Auditor Academy has plans to offer “QUICK LOOK” vendor webinars on the growing array of new products and processes entering the market such as;
- Advanced testing technology, whole genome sequencing, new intervention strategies for pathogen controls, new supply chain software systems to streamline compliance document management, irradiation, use of x-ray technology for foreign material detections, new models of metal detectors and much more.
